What Will the World Car of the Year Be: Volkswagen or Mercedes-Benz?
It is down to the final four cars competing for title of World Car of the Year. With an announcement expected by the end of March, the Mercedes-Benz A-Class, Porsche Boxster/Cayman, Volkswagen Golf and combined Scion FR-S/Toyota 86/Subaru BRZ all still remain in the running.
From a list of 42 cars, judges have pared the list down to just the final four. To be eligible in 2013, a car must have been available for commercial sale on at least two continents between January 1, 2012, and May 30, 2013. Cars are judged on a broad range of criteria.
Volkswagen is becoming quite experience at building world-renowned vehicles, as this is the fourth time they find themselves in the final four since 2009, and second year in a row, as the Volkswagen Up! was judged the World Car of the Year in 2012. For the Mercedes-Benz A-Class, it has been quite a heady year. Mercedes-Benz just launched the A-Class earlier in 2012 in response to other manufacturer’s entries in to the premium hatchback class.
No matter if your imported vehicle finds itself in the running for a major award or not, it is still welcome at Munich West. Our certified mechanics have the experience in working with Volvo, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, Mini, Saab and Audi, and will do their best to keep you on the road.
